Embed Google Reviews on Your Website — Right From Your Dashboard
Your Google reviews are one of your most powerful marketing assets. Potential customers trust what other people say about your business far more than what you say about yourself. But getting those reviews onto your website usually means juggling third-party plugins, manual copy-pasting, or clunky iframes.
MagicReply's Website Reviews Widget changes that. It's a built-in feature in your dashboard — create a collection, grab the embed code, and showcase real customer reviews on your site in minutes.
What the Widget Does
The Website Reviews Widget lets you embed your Google Business reviews directly on your website. Visitors see real, verified reviews without ever leaving your page.
The widget is lightweight, responsive, and styled to blend naturally with your site's design. New reviews sync automatically — your site always shows your latest customer feedback without manual updates.
Think of it as a live social proof engine, powered by the same reviews you're already managing in MagicReply. Handpick your best reviews, choose from multiple layouts, toggle exactly what to show, and preview everything live before publishing.
How to Set It Up
Getting reviews on your website takes four steps:
Step 1: Create a Collection
A collection is a curated group of reviews you want to display. Head to the Widget page in your sidebar and click Create Collection.
Give it a name — something like "Homepage Reviews" or "Testimonials" — then choose which reviews to include:
Handpick specific reviews — Click Pick Reviews to open a selector where you can browse, search by reviewer name, and filter by star rating. Check off up to 10 specific reviews and they'll display in exactly the order you choose.
Or use dynamic filters — Set automatic criteria and let the widget pull matching reviews for you:
- Rating range — e.g., only 4- and 5-star reviews
- Sort order — newest first, oldest first, highest rated, or lowest rated
- Only reviews with replies — show only reviews where you've responded
You can edit these filters at any time from the collection's Filters tab.
Step 2: Choose Your Layout
Pick from 3 built-in layouts to match your site design:
- Vertical — One review per row, full-width cards. Clean and readable, great for mobile.
- Grid — Responsive columns (up to 3 on desktop). Best for showcasing many reviews at once.
- Carousel — Horizontal slider with arrow navigation and 5-second auto-advance. Ideal when space is limited.
Then set your theme — light mode or dark mode — and pick a custom accent color to match your brand.
Step 3: Fine-Tune What's Shown
Open the Display tab to toggle individual elements on or off:
- Show Replies — Display your owner responses below each review, or hide them for a cleaner look
- Show Avatars — Reviewer profile images
- Show Dates — Review dates
- Show Ratings — Star ratings
- Show Platform — Google badge
Use the live preview right in your dashboard to see exactly how the widget will look before you publish. Click the preview icon on any collection card — changes update in real time, so you can experiment freely.
Step 4: Copy and Paste the Embed Code
Toggle Enable Embed, copy the snippet, and paste it into your website's HTML. Works with any platform:
- WordPress
- Squarespace
- Wix
- Shopify
- Plain HTML
HTML snippet — paste this anywhere in your site:
<div data-magicreply-widget="YOUR_COLLECTION_ID"></div>
<script src="https://api.magicreply.ai/api/website-reviews/embed.js" data-api="https://api.magicreply.ai" defer></script>
The widget is lightweight (zero dependencies), responsive, and handles live updates automatically.
WordPress Users
We also have a dedicated WordPress plugin — install it from the WordPress plugin directory, paste your collection ID into the shortcode, and you're done:
[magicreply_reviews id="YOUR_COLLECTION_ID"]
You can also pass optional parameters for height and theme:
[magicreply_reviews id="YOUR_COLLECTION_ID" height="600" theme="dark"]
The plugin supports Gutenberg blocks, classic widgets, and shortcodes. No coding required.
Chrome Extension
Already managing reviews? Our Chrome extension lets you reply to Google reviews with AI directly from your Google Business Profile page — no need to open the MagicReply dashboard. Install it from the Chrome Web Store.
Why This Matters
93% of consumers say online reviews influence their purchasing decisions. Displaying them on your website captures that trust at the exact moment it matters most — when someone is deciding whether to buy, book, or call.
Here's what embedding reviews actually does for your business:
Social proof at the point of conversion — Visitors see real customer experiences right where they're making a decision. No more hoping they'll go find your Google listing separately.
SEO benefits — Fresh, user-generated review content signals relevance to search engines. Review markup can unlock rich snippets in search results.
Trust through transparency — Showing unfiltered Google reviews tells potential customers you have nothing to hide.
Lower bounce rates — Engaging review content keeps visitors on your page longer, giving them more reasons to convert.
